The post Riot Games introduces League of Legends Global Power Rankings appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>Powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), this data-driven system provides real-time updates on the global standings of all Tier 1 teams, offering fans and analysts an up-to-the-minute view of the competitive landscape.
The Global Power Rankings are based on an Elo model that evaluates both a team’s individual performance and the overall strength of the region they represent.

A teams Power Score is weighted, with 80% based on their Elo rating and 20% on the strength of their regional league.
This “blended Elo metric” ensures that the rankings reflect both how well teams perform and the difficulty of the competition they face, offering a more balanced perspective on global standings.
One standout feature of the system is its ability to update after every game, rather than only after tournaments or splits.
This real-time tracking provides a dynamic view of team standings as they compete throughout the season, particularly during high-stakes matches.
Furthermore, international events are given more weight in the rankings than regional ones, and elimination matches carry greater significance compared to group-stage games.
This ensures that the most impactful games have a greater influence on the rankings.
Riot has also implemented “Contextualised Match Weighting (K Factors)” to further refine the system, making sure that more important competitions and games influence rankings appropriately.
Additionally, the rankings incorporate performance data from the last three years of regional play and the last two years of team performance, creating stability even amid roster changes.
The Global Power Rankings have been thoroughly tested and are designed with predictive capabilities, offering a reliable indicator of future match outcomes.
Riot has plans for future updates, which may include integrating in-game statistics to further refine the Power Scores and introducing player-based power rankings to evaluate individual impact on matches.
Fans will be able to follow the Global Power Rankings on the LoL Esports website and during official broadcasts throughout Worlds 2024, with the final rankings for the season published after the tournament concludes on November 2nd.
This innovative ranking system is set to transform how League of Legends fans, teams, and analysts understand the competitive scene on a global scale.

]]>The post Rekkles listed as T1 substitute for 2024 LoL World Championship appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>LoL Worlds’ Pick’Em returned on Wednesday, September 18, one week before the League of Legends World Championship 2024 Play-In stage opening game.
Giving the fans a chance to test their knowledge and claim in-game cosmetic items, Pick’Em highlighted an exciting detail involving Rekkles.
Pickems leaked Rekky is the official Worlds SUB for T1? pic.twitter.com/5sBah4M6YW
— Molecule (@MoleculeLOL) September 18, 2024
The former Fnatic star ADC is listed as T1 support for the LoL World Championship, which indicates the possibility of the 27-year-old being involved as a substitute for Ryu “Keria” Min-seok.
The player or the organisation have yet to confirm the information; however, Rekkles’ inclusion in the official LoL Worlds 2024 Pick’Em roster all but confirms he will join T1 on their trip to Europe.
Mainly known for his time at Fnatic as the organisation’s star ADC, the Swede left the region in December 2023 to join T1’s Academy roster.
Despite not being given a chance to appear in Korea’s top league, Rekkles enjoyed a successful debut season with his new team and helped T1 Academy place fourth in the LCK Challenger League 2024 Summer Playoffs.
Rekkles’ lack of involvement with the main lineup does not take away from the possibility of T1 bringing him along on their quest to defend the world championship title.
Yet his role within a team remains uncertain and could be limited to only scrims and an emergency call-up.
In an unlikely scenario where Rekkles replaces Keira as the starting support for T1, LoL Worlds 2024 would mark his seventh appearance on the biggest stage and the first since 2020, when Rekkles helped Fnatic reach the quarterfinals in China.
T1 travels to Europe with a lot to prove following their lacklustre showing in the latter stages of LCK season.
Despite winning the Esports World Cup 2024, the Korean juggernauts struggled to keep up domestically and qualified for the LoL Worlds by the skin of their teeth after placing second in the LCK 2024 Regional Finals.
Priced at $9.00 with League of Legends betting sites, T1 is tied with LNG Esports as the fifth-favourite in the outright betting markets, behind Top Esports, Hanwha Life Esports, and two top contenders in Bilibili Gaming and Gen.G.
LoL Worlds 2024 kicks off on Wednesday, September 28, with the first series of the play-in stage before the main stage begins on October 3.

]]>The post Dplus KIA qualify for LoL Worlds 2024 through LCK Regional Finals appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>The series marked Dplus KIA’s first win against T1 this year, breaking T1’s perfect 6-0 record in their 2023 meetings.
The win also ended Heo “ShowMaker” Su’s 15-match losing streak against Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and T1, with ShowMaker earning MVP honours for his standout performances, especially in the decisive game five, where his LeBlanc was crucial in clinching the victory.
The match held even more significance for Dplus KIA’s rookie jungler, Choi “Lucid” Yong-hyeok.
In his debut LCK season, Lucid not only helped secure his team’s World Championship qualification but also earned the “Rookie of the Year” title, solidifying his position as one of the brightest new talents heading into the global stage.

Despite T1 taking a 2-1 lead after game three, the team faltered in the final two games.
A controversial decision saw Faker, who had been dominant on Yone, switched to Corki, limiting his playmaking potential.
Dplus KIA capitalised on T1’s struggles, ultimately winning the 192-minute series, which was filled with back-and-forth mistakes and counterplays on both sides.
With this defeat, T1, who is the reigning World Champion, is on the brink of missing Worlds for the first time in the team’s storied history.
Their last chance to qualify comes on Saturday, September 14th, where they will face the winner of KT Rolster and BNK FearX.
KT Rolster and FearX will battle on Friday, September 13th, to determine who will challenge T1 in the final match for the LCKs fourth and last Worlds seed.

]]>The post LNG could be without star mid-laner at LoL Worlds 2024 appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>The dispute stems from Scout’s transfer to LNG at the start of the 2023 season, which led EDG to file a lawsuit.
After losing the first trial, EDG appealed the case, which has since escalated to a second trial.
As part of the legal proceedings, EDG reportedly requested a travel ban on Scout, complicating his ability to participate in the World Championship.
Scout had planned to return to South Korea for vacation but has been forced to remain in China while the case progresses.
If the court rules against him, the travel ban could extend into October, meaning Scout would miss the Swiss stage of Worlds, held in Berlin.
Source) Scouts may not be able to participate in Worlds 2024 #LoL #WORLDS2024 .@LNG_Esports pic.twitter.com/l1OSmbEhbQ
— kenzi (@kenzi131) September 12, 2024
This situation places LNG in a precarious position, as they currently lack a substitute mid-laner.
Their only substitute is Zhao “Shadow” Ziqiang, a former jungler who lacks Scouts expertise in the mid-lane.
Although some teams have filled gaps by loaning players, Scout’s absence would severely impact LNG’s chances at Worlds due to his pivotal role in their success.
Scout has been instrumental in LNGs performance, helping them secure a fourth-place finish in the 2024 LPL Summer Split playoffs and win the Regional Finals over Weibo Gaming.
His potential absence would disrupt LNGs momentum, as they rely heavily on his individual skill to compete at the highest level.
SuperGent, the agency representing Scout, has issued a public plea to EDG, urging them to lift the travel ban for the sake of both the fans and LNGs performance at Worlds.
However, without EDGs cooperation, it seems unlikely that Scout will be able to attend.
Complicating matters further are rumours that Scout’s agency may have mishandled his contractual obligations, potentially breaching contracts while trying to secure his transfer to LNG.
As the 2024 World Championship approaches, Scouts involvement remains uncertain.
If the legal battle doesnt resolve in his favour, LNG will be forced to find a replacement and adapt quickly.
The esports community is anxiously awaiting the outcome of the case, knowing that Scouts presence could be the key to LNGs success at Worlds.

]]>The post Weibo Gaming v T1 betting tips – LoL Worlds 2023 Final appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>Priced as two outsiders, T1 and Weibo Gaming defied all the odds to reach Sunday’s League of Legends World Championship 2023 grand final. However, while Weibo winning would follow the tradition of underdogs doing well, all the attention is on Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, who is on the verge of his fourth LoL Worlds title.
T1 entered LoL Worlds 2023 as $8.00 outsiders in outright betting with top esports bookmakers, and while the Korean juggernauts haven’t looked great early, they have recently found momentum. After the crushing loss against Gen.G in the Swiss stage, T1 destroyed Cloud9 and three LoL Pro League (LPL) representatives: Bilibili Gaming, LNG Esports, and JD Gaming.
Much of T1’s success so far is thanks to their stable early-game play and ability to gain leads and use them to snowball to victory. However, while LNG Esports struggled to match T1’s early game and JD Gaming failed to respond to T1’s drafts, Weibo Gaming might not be as easy to take down.
Weibo’s stats at LoL Worlds 2023 aren’t as flashy as T1’s, but they’ve looked strong in all stages of the game. With 619 gold difference at 15 minutes and +133 gold difference per minute, they rank close to T1 in performance metrics. Moreover, Weibo Gaming have shown a very deep champion pool, with each player using at least six unique champions.
LoL betting sites have T1 priced as heavy favourites, but they are priced far too short at $1.30 with GG Bet. T1’s flexibility and strong early game are tough to deal with, but the underdogs aren’t getting enough respect.
Like T1, Weibo Gaming can play through the top or bottom lane, and if they can punish Faker’s limited champion pool, this should be a much closer game than expected.

]]>The post Gen.G v Bilibili Gaming – LoL Worlds 2023 betting picks appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>Gen.G and Bilibili Gaming will cross swords on Friday, November 3, in the second round of the League of Legends World Championship 2023 knockout stage. Gen.G are expected to win, but we shouldn’t ignore the outsiders.
Gen.G entered LoL Worlds 2023 as the second-favourites to win a third Summoner’s Cup, and so far, they’ve given us no reason to doubt them. The Korean no.1 seed made it through the Swiss stage with wins against GAM Esports, G2 Esports, and T1 while averaging 3.55 KD, +2088 gold per minute, and 418 gold difference per minute.
Bilibili Gaming finished the Swiss stage with a 3-2 record and wins against G2 Esports, Fnatic, and KT Rolster, while their only two defeats came against T1 and arch-rivals JD Gaming. Their stats aren’t as impressive as Gen.G’s, with 1.08 KD, 1795 GPM, and -13 GDM; however, they’re a bit skewed due to bad losses against JD Gaming and T1.
Korean LoL esports teams historically do well against Chinese squads, and Gen.G have looked the cleaner side this tournament. However, considering how much stronger the blue side is in this meta (67% win rate), it’s not too wild to believe that Bilibili Gaming can keep it close.

]]>The post NRG Esports v Weibo Gaming C LoL World Championship betting tips appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>The 2023 League of Legends World Championship knockout stage commences this Thursday in South Korea with NRG Esports and Weibo Gaming tussling for a spot in the semifinals.
NRG Esports are the first North American esports team to reach this stage of LoL Worlds since Cloud9 in 2021. However, NRG didn’t have to defeat any elite teams to make it this far.
NRG Esports beat only Team Liquid, MAD Lions, and G2 Esports during the Swiss stage, which is a relatively easy schedule. And while defeating G2 sounds like an achievement, the European giants didn’t play well on the day.
This will mark NRG’s second meeting with Weibo Gaming, who beat them in the first round of the Swiss stage and have since added two more wins against MAD Lions and Fnatic. So, like NRG, the Chinese side has had the luxury of a relatively easy schedule.
Top esports betting sites have Weibo Gaming priced as huge favourites for this match, which makes sense because they boast much better players. Still, we could’ve said the same thing for every team NRG have beaten so far.
Weibo Gaming can also be very inconsistent, as seen when they capitulated against Fnatic. So even though Weibo shouldn’t be losing games like this, they tend to play down to the level of their opponents, which should give NRG Esports a chance to do some damage – especially on the blue side.
NRG have side choice, so we’re taking the North American outfit with a kill handicap on map one.

]]>The post Movistar R7 & DetonatioN FocusMe out of LoL Worlds 2023 appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>This departure marks the end of Japan and LATAM’s presence in the prestigious League of Legends event, and it’s worth noting that both these teams were the sole representatives for their respective regions.
Movistar R7’s elimination came at the hands of the Vietnamese team GAM Esports.
While they displayed some initial promise in their opening series against PSG Talon, Movistar was defeated in 0-2 fashion.
This unfortunate trend continued as they fell 0-2 again, this time to GAM.
The series wasn’t even close, with GAM dominating Movistar R7 in two relatively quick games lasting 26 and 31 minutes.
In the first game, GAM surged ahead with 19 kills to Movistar’s 6, and they held a substantial 13.1k gold lead by the end.
GAM’s ADC, Nguy?n Slayder Linh V??ng, showcased an impressive 8/0/5 performance on Xayah, and Duy “Levi” Duy Khnh on Wukong contributed with a 6/2/11 game.
On Movistar’s side, Jeong “Mireu” Jo-bin’s Sylas with a 4/4/1 scoreline was the only silver lining in the game.
The second game was even more challenging for Movistar R7, as Nguy?n “Slayder” Linh V??ng continued to shine on Xayah with a 9/2/5 performance.
Additionally, ?? “Levi” Duy Khnh on Vi seemed unstoppable, posting a 4/1/13 performance.
GAM ultimately closed out the game with a commanding 13.5k gold lead and 24 kills, while Movistar managed to secure only 7 kills.

DFM’s journey in the tournament also came to an abrupt end after they faced the European representative, Team BDS.
Team BDS had previously been pushed to the lower bracket following an unexpected reverse sweep by Vietnam’s Team Whales in the upper bracket.
Unfortunately, DFM’s fate mirrored their LATAM counterparts, as they were eliminated with a 0-2 series loss.
The first game of their series against Team BDS was incredibly tight, with BDS securing a narrow victory in 26 minutes and an 11.1k gold lead.
BDS’s midlaner, Ilias nuc Bizriken, emerged as the standout performer with a dominant 6/0/3 game on Jayce.
In the second game, BDS demonstrated a cleaner performance, claiming a victory with a 16.6k gold lead in 28 minutes.
BDS’s ADC, Ju? Crownie Maru?i?, redeemed himself with a remarkable 10/1/5 performance on Xayah.

After surviving elimination against Movistar R7 and DetonatioN FocusMe, in their respective series, GAM Esports will clash with LOUD and Team BDS will meet CTBC Flying Oyster on Saturday.
The winner of each series will qualify for round two of the Play-In stage, where PSG Talon and Team Whales await the victor of Saturday’s series.

The LoL World Championship 2023 kicks off on Tuesday, with the opening Play-In clash between Liga Latinoamrica (LLA) champions Movistar R7 and Pacific Championship Series (PCS) representatives PSG Talon. The two teams have never met before, but they both attended Mid-Season Invitational 2023 in May.
PSG Talon are priced as heavy favourites to defeat Movistar R7, mainly because the PCS is a stronger league than the LLA. Regions’ perceived strength is also the only way to measure the teams’ strength. And yet, neither team accomplished much at MSI 2023.
Movistar R7 looked decent at the MSI 2023, where they beat GAM Esports, while PSG Talon defeated DetonatioN FocusMe and LOUD but lost the LCQ match against Golden Guardians. Movistar R7 have since not made any roster changes, but they were far more dominant domestically, winning the LLA regular season and playoffs without issues.
This doesn’t make Movistar R7 a better team; however, this is still the first match of the tournament on a new patch and between two teams from minor regions. Movistar R7 winning a map isn’t the craziest thing that can happen.

LOUD and GAM Esports return to an international stage after both teams failed to achieve much at the Mid-Season Invitational 2023 in May. GAM Esports ended the tournament in last place, while LOUD placed 10th-11th with one win against DetonatioN FocusMe.
Like the first match of the day, this is a clash between two minor-region teams, but we can say that the Vietnamese and Brazilian leagues are fairly even quality-wise. Another thing worth remembering is that both regions are known for their aggressive playstyle.
This match can go both ways, but we can be sure the series will be bloody. LOUD have averaged 15.6 kills and 12.1 deaths per game, while GAM Esports are at 17.5 kills and 13 deaths per game this season. This, combined with the fact that both teams are bad at closing out games, makes over 29.5 kills an inviting bet, with this option available at many different esports betting sites.
