The Perfect World Shanghai Major will kick off with the Opening Stage on November 30 and run through December 15, when the grand final is set to be played inside the Shanghai Oriental Sports Centre. The Perfect World Shanghai Major will be the second Counter-Strike 2 Major, and it will also be the final event of 2024. Chinese esports event organisers Perfect World will host their first Counter-Strike Major, with the two-week tournament set to be held in the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Centre (Opening & Elimination Stages) and the Shanghai Oriental Sports Centre (Playoff Stage) in Shanghai, China.

From the four Regional Major Ranking (RMR) events in the Asia, Americas and Europe regions, 56 teams will compete for 16 spots at the Perfect World Shanghai Major. All of the teams will be striving to qualify in the US$1,250,000 event, where the winner will not only be crowned the Major champion, but they will take home a US$500,000 winners cheque.
