After losing against their regional rivals Natus Vincere (0-2) in the first round of Valorant Champions 2023, Team Liquid have one more chance to avoid elimination. But they’ll have to show up against the reigning Valorant world champions.
Like Team Liquid, LOUD collapsed in their first match of the group stage when they were reverse-swept by DRX (1-2). However, even though both teams lost against opponents of similar quality, LOUD’s defeat is far more concerning.
LOUD started the series well and won 15-13 on Lotus, but then looked completely lost on Split (8-13) and Ascent (8-13) with questionable plays and poor individual performances. Team Liquid didn’t look too impressive in their loss against NaVi, but they had a more convincing approach to the game.
The best Valorant betting sites can hardly split Team Liquid and LOUD in the head-to-head market, suggesting this could be a close game. But even though LOUD should be good for one map, this is Team Liquid’s game to lose.
Team Liquid 2-1
FUNPLUS PHOENIX vs T1 VCT BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Best Odds: | FPX $2.75 at GG Bet | T1 $1.40 at GG Bet |

FunPlus Phoenix had to admit defeat to Evil Geniuses (0-2) on Monday, while T1 proved to be no match for FUT Esports (0-2). But even though T1’s defeat in the opening match of the group stage was worse, they’re still priced as favourites against FunPlus Phonenix.
The only real explanation for the odds is that T1 finished third in the VCT 2023 Pacific League, which is far more impressive than FunPlus Phoenix’s bronze medal from the VCT 2023 China Qualifier. But the gap between the top two Pacific teams and the rest is so significant that placing third hardly means anything.
It’s not like T1 are a bad team, but this squad has not improved one bit since the start of the season, and their performance against FUT Esports was hardly inspiring. FunPlus Phoenix are still weaker, but based on what they’ve shown, they have a realistic chance to take down T1.
